How I Learnt Astrology and Began My Spiritual Path

My fascination with the stars started with a telescope perched on our back porch under the Milky Way. I was raised in a very scientific and mathematical family in NZ. While my brothers excelled in algebra and physics, I had a natural forte for geometry—the cornerstone of astrology. At 17, I left home to see the big wide world and began a lifelong passion for travel, driven by a passion for spiritual and cultural exploration.

Regardless of culture, identity, religion or language, it seems almost everyone in the world knows their star sign -if only by hand signals and laughter. What does it do? It brings people together. They discover traits they suddenly know so well in their friends ‘just because they are ‘a Capricorn’ or ‘an Aries’ for example. In my experience there is no faster way to break down barriers. After all, who doesn’t love their zodiac sign? People love to have a sense of belonging, and what better way than to bring the world together by finding new friends of the same sign or element on the other side of the world? It is a guaranteed way to find a new friend and bring about plenty of smiles with those who live a vastly different life from yours!

What’s more, I was consistently struck by the similarities of ancient indigenous wisdom, from my own familiar Maori culture in New Zealand to Aboriginal tribes in Australia, from Inca traditions in Colombia to African tribes, Indian psychics, and, most importantly for me, the birthplace of astrology: the elders of the Middle East—where I have spent most of the last 18 years. The world has shown me a reverence for the spiritual and unseen.

My approach to astrology blends the four decades of lessons learned throughout my travels and studies and the connections between archetypes, planetary energies, and repeating mathematical patterns and cycles.

You may not agree, but I fully believe it is all written in the stars and I have four decades of my own studies to prove it.  I encourage everyone to do an annual or bi-annual reset with a reading. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for you.
